Las Vegas
We arrived in Las Vegas on the evening of the 21st December, 2014. Our flight was delayed out of LA, but it was so entertaining to fly on a SouthWest flight it really wasn't a problem. We got to our hotel, checked in and got into our room well after midnight.
We are staying at the Elara Hilton again with the most amazing view over the strip.
Our first day we had nothing planned besides wanting to go the the outlet shops to get some shoes for Kash. We headed out at around 10am. It was coolish in the shade but it quickly warmed up when you got into the sun.
We started walking towards New York, New York looking for somewhere to have breakfast. We came across a Mexican bar/restaurant that served eggs and bacon for $3.95. Sounded great so we decided to have breakfast there. Very nice brekky with Col splashing out and having a Balileys coffee for brekky.
Of course, Col saw the roller coaster at NY, NY so had to have a go. I waited holding the bags (as usual). The boys said it was pretty good but slammed you about a bit.
Over the road we went and bought our tickets for the bus. Very simple, you just need the correct change - $8 for a 24 hour pass - all you can ride.
The ride to the outlet malls is always very interesting with lots of amazing things to see. We spent several hours shopping. Kash got his Asics, the boys got some new gloves for snowboarding and the mumma bought some new thongs.
Off we go to the Stratosphere where Col wants to ride the rides he missed out on last year. One of the rides is closed because it is so windy, but the boys are not deterred so off they go. I wait inside in a diner where the staff sing as well as serve you. I had the most delicious butterscotch milkshake while I was waiting - so yummy and very,very filling.
Caught the bus back to our hotel room, Kash was pretty tired, so we left him there while we nicked out to Walgreens for some milk. We were going to go to Planet Hollywood for the buffet tea but we knew Kash would be too tired, so we just bought some Panda Noodles to eat (with a couple of very nice ciders). We finished the evening with an early night after a relaxing jacuzzi (in the room).
